My Experiment with Office Culture

My Experiment with Office Culture

I’ve been part of a small Architecture-based office since August 2018 which is opened by collective effort of my two school friends (now five) and me. It has been one of the true challenge and greatest adventure that I’ve experienced in my life. Being at a responsible position, I have had this beautiful opportunity to craft out better Office timing and work routine.

Every member in my office have different field of education, different interests and different experiences but one target which is to achieve something new, something unconventional. Irrespective of level of education, everyone have unique personality. Some are good at finishing work, some are good at communication. Some are good at doing research, some are good at learning new softwares. Some are good at standing up with their promises, Some are good at being lazy.

While working in a team, cooperation and trust are the basic pillars on which success of the team depends. To achieve this, everyone must be able to communicate and express his own thoughts freely to every member of the team. To achieve this we’ve decided to give one hour at the end of office hour where we have an interactive session. In this session, firstly we sit in a circle and speak about our day. How we’ve spent it starting from waking up. The more we discuss it in detail, more it helps us. While we speak about it, we are able to realize our own individual contribution towards self and towards team. It really helps in self-actualization. Also it creates a perfect platform to express one’s thought regarding to the other members of the team which is really important. Every feedback helps in encouragement if having great output or self-realization when not achieving best. Through this session, there is regular check for everyone, making self accountable in front of the team which ultimately builds mutual understanding and trust. After this session, we have a lecture session where one has to speak about a topic of his own choice. There is no time limit. This verbal exercise ultimately uplifts ones public speaking confidence which is very important for firm as it makes one confident enough take on any client as well as it’ll help in different scenarios of life in future. Also, sometimes there are topic related to some softwares, industries, Government schemes, trip memories and the things happening around us. Through this exercise, there is proper medium of exchange of knowledge from one person to everyone.

Alongside this verbal exercise, we often have physical exercise too. Its quite fun actually. During office hours, we have small breaks where we do push-ups, planks and other related exercises. Sometimes competition amongst team helps self in getting better. Though we still trying to cope up to do this thing everyday but sometimes we actually forget about it as to keep up our speed to finish our work.

I’ve been enjoying these sessions and been encouraging my team to follow up this exercise daily. I’ve seen the improvement in everyone from communication skills to seriousness in physical fitness. These sessions actually have positive impact on the growth of our firm. Now we are more collaborative and active in the work we do which ultimately gives me strong feeling that we can achieve more than what be believe.

Run for and from

Run for and from

I love to travel. One of the greatest thing I love is that it exposes you towards different cultures, environments, vibrancy of the world. It is certain that we humans are explorers.  From the past to the present, our curiosity made us rich in each field. It has given us a motive to live. We are always in search of new which always make us active.

But now I am going to talk about the things that is stopping us to do things, to explore world. Now we are exposed to those things that is restricting us to spread outwards. Yes, it is the new devices that we are surrounded by. At initials it had good impacts but now as it indulge you in it costs your time. We are unaware or not sure about what we want and what we are doing.

Thus, I came up with a quote –

For what you should “RUN FOR” or for what you should” “RUN FROM”.

Earlier we ran from harsh environments, hunger.

We ran for food, shelter, survival.

Then we ran from inferiority, incapability.

We ran for superiority, capability, power.

Then we ran from war, misunderstandings.

Till now we ran for innovations, developments.

Now as we are exposed to some of our innovations and developments that are designed to provide better services to us are eating our time. Thus, finally I want to quote

We should run from things that wastes your time.

We should run for things that enrich our time.

We should run from making others impressed by you.

We should run for making you impressed by yourself.

We should run from unnecessary activities.

We should run for our aim.

We should run from things that makes us comfortable.

We should run for things that makes us uncomfortable because it is the only thing that will help you grow.

Indian Economy: Past, Present and Future

India is a South-Asian country which is largest democracy in the world and is second in terms of population. India is also the fastest growing economy in the world having average GDP growth 8.2% in Q1 of 2018-19.

Before British rule, India was said to be the Golden Sparrow of the world as the region had domination in exportation to the world. As positioned well in the region connecting Western world i.e. Europe to the Eastern countries like Japan, provided sufficient trade opportunities to India which ultimately had good impact in terms of economy. India exported fabrics, spices, etc which had significant demand in economy.

Around 1600, East India Company got settled in Surat, to maintain proper trade between the nations. Italian and French also subsequently entered the Indian territory later that period. Later in 1750’s East India Company was able to defeat Nawab of Bengal and established First British-Controlled Region. Later subsequently East India Company got control on all over Indian Territory. Britishers ruled India for almost 200 years. In these years, It has been said the economy faced severe crises as EIC looted the wealth and exported it to the mainland England. In this period, the economy fell as the trade was going to Europe only. Main Products were Textiles, Tea, Spices, Indigo, etc.

The country got independence in 1947 from Britishers and from there after the country have seen many ups and down. Since there was lack of Industrialization during British rule, almost 91% of the population used to live in Villages which means much population was dependent on Agriculture based economy. The country faced difficulty as due to its concentrated economy and increasing population. Due to strict laws and conservative perspective of government, there was no significant increase in the economy.

In 1991, Indian market opened doors for foreign investors which is said to be the turning point of Indian Economy. Just after two decades, India became the fastest growing economy in the world. Due to availability of cheap labor and large English-speaking educated population, India gained speed to catch-up with growing markets of the world.

Talking about the present, India is a still Agro-based economy in which almost 51% of its population is dependent on farming.

In terms of Production, Indian Economy is divided into three parts:

  1. Primary or Agriculture
  2. Secondary or Industrial
  3. Tertiary or Service

1. Primary sector: This sector comprises of Agriculture, poultry, fish farming, animal husbandry. Almost 51% of  country’s population is dependent on Agriculture, still accounts less in total GDP contribution.

2. Secondary sector: It includes Industries both small and large, Construction Industries and Factories. It has significant contribution in total GDP contribution.

3. Tertiary sector: This is Service sector includes Banking, IT companies, Financial institutions, Education sector and other similar Institutes. This sector has the largest contribution in country’s economy.

Right now, Current GDP of India is 7.6 in Q1 2018-19. The economy has faced bad impact of Demonetization and implementation of GST in past two years. Still, India has got its pace back. In 2018, India ranked 77 in ease of doing business which has created a good image of current economic stability towards the world.

After 70 years of Independence, India is still facing the agricultural crises. India need a boom in its Manufacturing industries to boost its GDP to double digits. Government of India has launched “Make in India” initiative to catch the focus of investors but it is arguably not producing much impact on the economy.  According to the World Bank report, India is going through jobless growth. Problems of Unemployment is looms over the country as most of the youth are not getting job.

In conclusion, India has achieved significant success in terms of economy but it stills needs to focus on the sectors which has been felling apart. India  in ranks 147 World inequality index which is very alarming as concentration of money will lead to many other problems for Developing country. India is having good relation with every major countries and focusing of boosting its trade.

Light in Self

Light in Self

Sun is sole entity which puts energy into each particulars of environment. Sun is responsible for keeping planets within appropriate track, casts it’s light to energize matters around it and thus responsible for creating a favorable environment which flourish life.

Our parents role are similar to the sun as we have their support through our life, they create a good environment around us which helps us to become better and become a shield to protect us from all the harm that may happen onto us.

Life is full of experiences where we find some moments challenging and rest are comfortable to handle. The main role of any individual towards people-kind is to learn things and contribute in its progress. We are well aware of the fact that we enriches self more with important experiences during uncomfortable and challenging moments. I believe facing difficulties is important instead running from it. It is the time where we must come out of the shadow of our comfort to face the intense brightness of tough situations. A flame is bright and hot but a candle have to get into it to get its own flame. There is beautiful phrases in a song of Bollywood movie “Bhaag Milkha Bhaag” which is much related is ‘bin khud jale naa hoye ujaala’. This phrase gives the whole idea that I intended to discuss.

Now I want the reader to look around and notice every people around you. Does they have their own light, energy and flame? If not, Does your presence enlightens them? It is necessary, your presence must have a positive impact on the people around you. Your role should be same as the Sun to a planet. You must be able to impart your light on the people around you. Being at any responsible position like a parent, elder, senior, I believe instead becoming a shield for person under you, you must let the person face the situation. It might be difficult but it is the correct measure.
Enlight self, Enlight others, Share thoughts.

Struck by Lightning

Struck by Lightning

We are bunch of dreamers living in this wonderful world. Well I believe we dream every time not just while sleeping. I find my dreams more adventurous and unimaginable while sleeping.

I want to share my dream that I had last night. It included the people I know and me as main central character. There was lightning storm in the scene. I find myself escaping from numerous lightning. I see others running away from it and somehow they escaped. The last thing I remember that I got struck by lightning and all of sudden I wake up. I was clueless and curious what will happen the next. I slept again and later I started new day with ease.

It is ironic that something happened similar today that may have the same interpretation to my dream. We live in society with different minds and different thoughts. You have to be skeptical before to trust anyone. I totally believe that each person you go through teaches great lessons of life and I always find myself learning a lot from them.

There are lots of things that I used to be that I am no longer.

And there are lots of things that I never thought I’d be that I unexpectedly am.

There are two things in the world, Good and Bad. It’s an individual choice what he/she select. I choose to see good and I do expect it from others. Though I have been wrong many times and I do accept my faults. Obviously! I am not going to talk about me. It’s about people with muttering voices and changing faces. They are all around me. I don’t know what they want but they definitely will be in front of you with a “question mark” symbol. I have tried to satisfy them but they never seems satisfied. They are the people who speaks to you through series of mouths. They will be never direct ( always in my experience). Also, you can’t erase them from the view. They all are part of the scenery. They have been teaching me from starting and I am glad to be with them. Still I do believe the meddling mouths will reduce and people will be direct.

Getting back to dream, I did saw myself struck by lightning but I was able to control that intensity and stand through it. It’s ironic to see similar moments clashing together. Still it’s just a dream.

I just want to encourage the reader to be the person is comfortable to move against the intensity and power of lightning (Resistance).
